Services
CHIROPRACTIC
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain,
neck pain, arm and leg pain and headaches.
At Olympic Health & Sports Therapy, we practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment according to the latest research and literature studies in order to achieve the best results for the patient.
In 2011, Consumer Reports regarded chiropractic as the most effective treatment for resolution of low back pain and neck pain, as well as one of the top three most effective treatments for headache and migraines, fibromyalgia, cold & flu and allergies.
PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical Therapy promotes and maximizes strength and physical potential by improving upon mobility and function. We address sports injuries, balance disorders, orthopedic injuries, postural syndromes, rehabilitation of herniated discs and any acute or chronic pain.
MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues using the hands and fingers. This includes the layers of muscles, superficial and deeper connective tissue layers, fascia and lymphatic channels. Massage therapy promotes relaxation while also reducing the degree of muscle spasm. We offer both therapeutic massage and relaxation/ spa services: Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, warm bamboo massage, prenatal massage, exfoliating body polish, detoxifying Baltic mud wrap, moisturizing body luxe hydrating wrap and paraffin treatment. Bridal and Spa parties can be customized for any special occasion. Chair massage is also available for corporate and business functions.
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING
Our nutritional counseling begins with an hour initial consultation where we discuss your health goals, diet, family history and lifestyle. Individualized meal planning, recipes and supplements will be recommended to address weight loss and the amelioration of chronic disease such as gastrointestinal issues, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and autoimmune disorders. In addition, we provide nutritional education in attempt to teach patients self management skills and to maintain a healthy lifestyle on their own.
SPORTS MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION
It is getting more and more apparent that chiropractic and rehabilitation have become essential in the sports community. Many professional athletes are embracing both chiropractic and sports rehabilitation, attributing their success and improved performance to these practices. Athletes such as golfer Tiger Woods; baseball players Barry Bonds and Wade Boggs; football players Joe Montana and Jerry Rice; heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield; basketball player Charles Barkley; Olympian decathlon gold medalist Dan O'Brien; Olympic beach volleyball gold medalists Karch Kiraly and Kent Steffes, and many others are regular chiropractic patients.
It is also worthy to note that it is chiropractic that has relieved the pain associated with sports injury while sports rehabilitation allows a fast and full recovery from this injury.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a system of complementary medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. Originating in ancient China, acupuncture is now widely practiced in the West. This treatment is especially effective with resolving acute or chronic pain, including autoimmune disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis.
DRY NEEDLING
This is a technique that is gaining significant popularity due to its very rapid effects. It is the repeated insertion of an acupuncture needle into a very tight muscle in order to “pry” apart the spastic muscle fibers or muscle “knot”. This technique quickly releases the tight muscle and allows the muscle to relax and become pain free. This technique is especially useful with resolving sports injuries.
COLD LASER
This therapy helps conditions where all previous therapies may have failed. This non-thermal laser causes an increase of metabolism of injured cells, expediting cell repair and reducing healing time. Cold laser is especially effective with decreasing inflammation, relieving acute and chronic pain, stimulating the immune system, stimulating nerve function and promoting faster tissue healing and regeneration.
